Christmas on the Green
On the 13th of December, our choir sang alongside a brass band at the first ever Christmas on Harlington green. We sang two full sets and celebrated the holiday season with our community members!

This year once again, Heathrow generously donated a beautiful Christmas tree and decorations to our school.
We had the great pleasure of hosting a Tree Planting Event at our school. Thanks to the Woodland Trust and their generous donation, we were able to plant 100 trees.
On Friday 15th November, the William Byrd choir was invited to sign at the Hillingdon Civic Center lights turning on event! We sang 5 songs, 2 of which were accompanied by a brass band! We even met the mayor of Hillingdon! Our choir really represented our school well at this event!

On the 11th November Year 2 visited the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara in Southall. In RE, we have been learning about holy books in different religions. This visit gave us the opportunity to delve deeper into Sikhism and find out about their holy book the Guru Granth Sahib.
On October 15th and 17th, Year 2 went to visit Tower Bridge.
We are proud to have been accredited as a Music Mark school 2024. We have been awarded this status in celebration of our commitment to a broad and balanced curriculum which values music and supports access to music for all children.
On Thursday 10th October, we celebrated World Mental Health Day. This year Young Minds theme was ‘wear it loud, wear it proud’.

Mrs Wegrzyn, our Reception Leader, was recently featured in this month's Practice magazine, discussing the topic of woodwork at William Byrd. We are incredibly fortunate to have her at our school and are immensely proud of the valuable contributions she has made to both the school and the early years program. Year 2 has been learning about still life in Art. They have been inspired by the artist Paul Cezanne and his artwork.
