Year 2 Trip to Tower Bridge

On October 15th and 17th, Year 2 went to visit Tower Bridge.

For some of us, it was the first time we had been to London and also the first time on public transport. At Tower Bridge, we participated in a workshop called "Jumping Buses." We learnt that in 1952, a number 78 bus jumped over Tower Bridge as it started to open. In those days, there weren't any cameras or phones to take videos. So, we tried creating our own videos to show how the bus jumped the bridge. We also acted out how the bridge opens and closes so big ships and boats can pass through. Then we had a chance to go to the top of Tower Bridge and walk along the walkways. Some of us were a little scared, but we were brave and tried walking on the glass floor over the bridge. It was a fantastic trip, and the children had an amazing time, as did all the adults! We can't wait for our next trip!
